Image tools that keep files on your device

Most online image compressors upload your photo to a server, process it there and send it back. Ours use the canvas feature built into your browser instead. That has two benefits. Your files stay private, and processing is fast because nothing waits on an upload. Re-encoding through canvas also strips hidden metadata such as camera details and GPS location from JPG files, which is useful before you post a photo publicly.

  • Image compressor — reduce JPG, PNG and WebP file sizes, one file or a whole batch.
  • Image format converter — switch between JPG, PNG and WebP, with a background colour for transparent images.
  • SVG to PNG converter — export logos and icons at exact pixel sizes for apps and social media.

Security and sharing

The password generator uses the Web Crypto API, the same secure random source browsers use for encryption keys. The QR code generator builds codes for links, plain text, Wi-Fi logins and emails, and exports them as PNG for screens or SVG for print.

Which image format should you use?

Use JPG for photos, PNG for screenshots and graphics with sharp edges or transparency, and WebP when you want smaller files and your audience uses current browsers. SVG is best for logos and icons on the web; convert to PNG only when a platform will not accept SVG.
